AB234,1,2 1An Act to amend 115.341 (1) of the statutes; relating to: payments to schools
2under the School Breakfast Program.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under the current School Breakfast Program, the Department of Public
Instruction (DPI) reimburses a school board and the governing body of a private
school or tribal school (together, "school") 15 cents for each breakfast served by the
school, provided the breakfast satisfies certain nutritional requirements established
under federal law. If the appropriation is insufficient to pay the full 15 cents for each
such breakfast, DPI must prorate the payments among all eligible schools.
This bill increases the per pupil reimbursement to 30 cents for each breakfast.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB234,2,34 115.341 (1) From the appropriation under s. 20.255 (2) (cm), the state
5superintendent shall reimburse each school board 15 30 cents for each breakfast
6served at a school that meets the requirements of 7 CFR 220.8 or 220.8a, whichever

1is applicable, and shall reimburse each governing body of a private school or tribal
2school 15 30 cents for each breakfast served at the private school or tribal school that
3meets the requirements of 7 CFR 220.8 or 220.8a, whichever is applicable.
